Our Services
CHEC is a non-profit organization that works to improve health, care and support services, and to educate, raise awareness and change behaviors related to HIV/AIDS through community-based prevention programs. CHEC runs three main programs:
- Empowering Youth for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Community Participation
This program aims to empower youth to make healthy choices about their sexual and reproductive health. Activities include:
- Training for youth on comprehensive sexual education (CSE) and gender equality
- Training for local authorities, school teachers, and health center staff on CSE and gender equality
- Organizing World AIDS Day events
- Organizing youth debates and webinars
- Running four youth-friendly centers
- Providing counseling and referrals for HIV and STI testing
- CEDAW advocacy and community education to end violence against women
This program aims to end violence against women (VAW) through advocacy and community education. Activities include:
- Training for local authorities on gender equality, domestic violence laws, and the National Action Plan to Prevent Violence Against Women (NAPVAW III)
- Training for target groups, including men, on gender equality, effective couple communication skills, and safe referrals
- Providing counseling and referrals for LGBTIQ and VAW survivors
- Organizing 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaigns and International Women’s Day events
- Organizing community debates on VAW
- Community Health Responsiveness
This program aims to improve the health of communities in three districts of Cambodia. Activities include:
- Training courses on HIV/AIDS, STI, ART, and counseling for youth
- Training on ART, minimum care and support, and counseling for local authorities
- Organizing training courses on enabling laws and policy support to respond to HIV/AIDS for local authorities
